I am a sales manager of a valve trading company.I meet enormous difficulty in developing the abroad market . I show all products in alibaba website. Every day I revert the attachment of customers in time and offer the quotation, but I less receive the more comunication. So I 'd better to know how to change the status now.
The problem with Alibaba is you have a lot of people that do not know exactly what they want. Unfortently you will spend a lot of time and money finding out that they are not going to yield a sale.

You also have Purchasing Managers/ Commodity Managers who seem legitimate but are really just price shopping. They will use your lower piece to ask their current vendor to drop theirs. Most are not interested in buildingalibaba trade manager a relationship just want to use your time and money for marketing purposes.

If you want to continue using alibaba (I use it myself) then you probably want to spend some money to build a nice website showing off your company, services, and capabilities.

When you accept quotes make sure the companies have a website and seem legitamte. You will learn from experience which ones are time waster and which ones are not. You need to learn how to read people are they sincere????

Sometimes no mater how hard you try, how much money you spend, how much time you spend developing leads. Things do not always work out.

I have visited many companies in Ningbo and Guangdong looking for vendors that can build stuff cheap and high quality for the companies over here in the US.

My recommendation finds more then one way to make money. Do not rely on only one income. Find a rep to help you. Maybe a friend or relative to help you develop your market.

Determine what makes your valves better. Cost? Quality? Guarantee? Etc.
Then determine what your target market is. Hire some Manufacturer Representatives to sell your product, and pay them a greater commission than anyone else.
