Suppose I have an MPEG-type movie file (with extension .mpg). How do I extract an audio file (MP3, WMA, WAV, and OGG formats are all fine) from it? The audio file must be able to stand alone, i.e., does not change if the original movie is altered or deleted.
Please give detailed instructions and not just a generalization like "Go and download something off the Internet" or "Ask a pro." If it requires a program, then I would like freeware software downloads roxioto use one that I already have: Windows XP, Windows Media Player 10, FreeRIP 2.951, Roxio 5 Basic, Nero Express, and the software that came with my Sony DSC-H1 digital camera (which can shoot movies). If it requires a different program, then it should be downloadable (please provide a URL link). Freeware would be best, but if it costs money, then keep it under $10. Please give instructions on using the program. Thanks!
You need a recording program. Go to downlfreeware software downloads roxiooad.com there are free ones there. I'm not going to give you any names you can do that for yourself.
When you get your downloaded program running, run the video file and the recording program at the same time and it will record just the audio. You have to have your sound card set to record that type of sound though. Setting stereo mix as you recording source will work but have your mic turned off at the same time.
